f1 numbership manifesto

leeseokminbasically these are some of the ships/dynamics i camp for in f1. my #1 is obviously 333 (danmax/maxiel) but 446 (brocedes) and 516 (sebchal) are also where i go insanely hard. feel free to ask for clarifications, ship content, rotation rights etc, if you’d like! I’ve got their individual racing numbers listed in alphabetical order to make it clear, and numbers are arranged in terms of who i think tops/bottoms, with the exception of 333 #switch_rights
333 (daniel ricciardo/max verstappen)
daniel and max are genuinely friends off track, and max has called daniel a friend, which is rare because max is notably an asshole and would sooner get into a fight with someone, except max is also competitive and wants to be one of the youngest champions in the sport and has an overbearing, overly invested father who pulled the team into favouring max as opposed to favouring daniel, who could have, over the span of 8 year career with red bull, won a championship. on-track aggression deteriorates an off-track friendship and forces daniel into leaving red bull, but the vibes are very much what if you were the older, indulgent boyfriend who tamed your younger, attack-dog boyfriend and was the best driver partner he has ever had in his professional racing career ft a sprinkle of you made a better person in the case of max
443 (lewis hamilton/daniel ricciardo)
this is a pure #vibes ship. lewis is the older, well-adjusted boyfriend that daniel deserves, instead of the unhinged, attack dog boyfriend [max] that daniel has. also lewis and dan have a lot of respect for each other and outside of f1 have similar tastes & passions in music, fashion, etc
323 (daniel ricciardo/alex albon)
this ship purely exists in my brain but it’s perfect to me. daniel and alex are both people who genuinely love and respect max. i think despite alex being younger there’s a veneer of max is untouchable and this is a triangulation ship because it’s like alex->max->dan except dan is not completely untouchable to alex i think. in fact in 2020 there were many moments where it was alex and dan battling it out for positions which was so #wig, and also, dan is the lead driver that alex deserves. dan is competitive, but patient and willing to teach and nurture, and after what 2020 was to alex, daniel will be the best racing partner alex will never have

the narrative has very much become red bull vs mercedes and lewis is sort of the ghost that both max and daniel are chasing after both together and apart. lewis has snatched many pole wins from both max and dan and sometimes is ever-present at their double podiums… i like to hc that lewis is the boyfriend daniel has when max and he take a break ctfu
446 (lewis hamilton/nico rosberg)
there’s no way to fully impart the absolute violence of 446 to anyone who didn’t watch it play out in real time but it truly is your [lewis] consecutive world champion winning streak is interrupted by your former best friend, who you literally grew up on track with, and your current rival, who wins one (1) championship then immediately retires to become a stay at home father who hosts a f1 podcast, leaving behind a void no one else can step up into
445 (lewis hamilton/sebastian vettel)
poster boy rivalry ship, but they genuinely like each other and respect each other on track. they’re kind of stably married, almost golden pair-esque sense in a quiet marriage situation
4463 (lewis hamilton/george russell)
this could be a case of hero worship turned to rivalry on the condition that george gets signed to mercedes eventually and lewis remains in mercedes. the dynamic here is that lewis is basically someone george would have been conditioned into looking up to both as a mercedes junior driver and a fellow countryman. for the sakhir grand prix, george actually took lewis’ place in lewis’ car [lewis was quarantined after testing positive for covid] for mercedes and outperformed lewis’ partner, valtteri bottas, in an unprecedented move. genuinely, he was beyond brilliant but this poses a question that george could be the first person to step into the plate of nico in terms of competing against lewis given the same car

this is immensely onesided, but max has his eye set on beating lewis, because lewis is the man to beat except like i mentioned earlier, no one is nico and no one, not even max, can be nico so it’s essentially competing against a ghost more tangible than yourself

i fucking hate ocon but like this is just purely a hatefuck ship. for reasons depicted in this video.
1610 (charles leclerc/pierre gasly)
pierre and charles have grown up racing against each other their whole life, and for the most part, were on equal playing fields, competing with each other in the 2018 midfield, until the 2019 season, when charles was signed onto ferrari and pierre was demoted from red bull back to toro rosso. it’s gone from we promised we’d always go up against each other to i’m now playing catch-up to get to you, but i will one day, and we will take what we were promised together
516 (charles leclerc/sebastian vettel)
what if you [sebastian] were a four-time world champion, stepping into the team with the biggest mythology surrounding it’s brand, quickly lost your grip to a speed demon of a rookie who is a menace on track, but absolutely sees you as a hero and looks up to you off track? what if you [sebastian] were given the power to corrupt something young and turn him into a weapon against yourself?

i used to go 34 for vibes but lando said sth about dan the other day that made me upset so he's theoretically in the doghouse for me. sorry i'm #DANIEL_RICCIARDO_MUST_INHERIT_THE_WORLD etc etc i'm sure when the season starts i'll get over it and have more thoughts so we need to put a raincheck on it for now
i don't think i have further thoughts on 5/33/3 outside of what you've already pointed out tbh... it's genuinely just you are daniel ricciardo haunted by the ghost of the former golden boy, coming close to victory with p3 twice, and finding yourself quickly shadowed by the incoming monstrosity of a golden boy. although there's also something to be said about Sebastian and daniel still having a loving, respectful relationship and daniel controlling the attack dog etc, maybe you are not a golden boy, but does it matter if you have the golden boys eating from your hand?
as for 5/33/16, i'm a little confused :o. did u mean 5/3/16 or genuinely 5/33/16 HAHAHA
