i came across a hades ask meme going around twitter & i think my answers were going to be too long for twt so onto dreamwidth it goes. there are some things i haven’t done yet (mostly turning god mode off/hell mode on) so i won’t be answering those >_< 

sidenote: i think dreamwidth is such a feasible medium for ask memes, i'm never going to do an ask meme on twt ever again, i'm just going to shift it to dreamwidth and answer the whole thing here. so much more fun because i love talking!

i thought really hard and this came to a tie between the spear on aspect of achilles and the fists on aspect of talos, depending on the build i try to aim for

everyone knows that for me, personally, it comes down to the bow and shield. the bow is more horrible to me compared to the shield though, even on aspect of rama, which is ridiculously powerful, so there you have it

ASPECT OF ARTHUR! the sword was generally one of my faves starting out x_x but holy consecration is sooo good in asphodel and elysium it offsets how slow the special is (balanced out if you get a hermes special speed boon) and helps with so many boss fights in general. 

Notable mentions: aspect of achilles on the spear, aspect of zeus on the shield, aspect of hera/rama on the bow, aspect of talos on the fists and aspect of eris on the gun, although aspect of lucifer is getting to be pretty fun too. 

 

➤least favourite weapon aspect

i find the aspect of poseidon on the sword pretty unwieldy tbh. Aspect of hestia on the gun also takes some getting used to. 

 

➤favourite chtonic companion

i’ve only unlocked meg’s, sisyphus’ and thanatos’ for now. Meg’s is pretty op but i’m really bad at timing/using it right so the enemy gets barely hit… so thanatos is my go-to atm… i need to max up the companion once i’ve bonded with all the olympians—why is that taking forever, btw and why is the hades economy so steep. bouldy is really fun too, especially on extreme measures three—the epicness of taking out asterius>>>. because i only have three, i’m not going to answer the least fave, although i’m pretty excited to unlock dusa, skelly + achilles’, which should be soon-ish, as i've fulfilled the divided by death prophecy.

ATHENA FOR SURE. in my first 50 runs i was carried by divine dash with god mode on and still didn’t start beating hades until like, 80% godhood

ooooof. With weapons i’m confident with (fists, spear, sword) i tend to go for poms. With other weapons (bow, shield) i go for centaur hearts!

Athena, ares, artemis, demeter and zeus for sure!

…. Sorry aphrodite, but i’m really bad at utilizing weak T_T

I like a lot of tier 2 boons, so i decided to fill an ideal build with the tier 2’s i like to go for!
 

move	boon
attack	zeus (storm lightning + static discharge. Placeholder for my epic asf full zeus build writeup)
special	poseidon (razor shoals + wave pounding, and while hydraulic might isn’t a tier two, it’s pretty op)
cast	demeter (icy flare + glacial glare)
dash	ares (BLACK METAL + ENGULFING VORTEX, BABY!)
call	artemis (clean kill + pressure points, but i also REALLY like support fire and exit wounds)

T_T ZAGREUS GENUINELY IS THE BEST BOY! Patroclus + Achilles are absolutely melodramatic homosexuals, megaera is INTENSELY compelling (WHAT’S THE STORY, SUPERGIANT?!), asterius, theseus, chaos, artemis, ares, dionysus and demeter. Also society if we had apollo in the story? Would love for his legendary to be named solar flare.

 

➤least favourite character?

zeus for crimes of meninism. Even if his boons are epic asf. No hard feelings bro.

 

➤godly boon or daedalus hammer?

agh, once again, dependent on weapons i think. most of the time i go for boons but i do try for the hammer on the bow. explosive shot is pretty good. ALSO I STILL HAVEN”T GOTTEN EXPLODING LAUNCHER ON THE SPEAR, WHAT’S THAT ABOUT @ SUPERGIANT.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT. YOU KNOW, I USED TO THINK THE LAVA IN ASPHODEL WAS BAD. THEN I UNLOCKED FACKINGGGGGGGGG ELYSIUM. I HATE THAT BITCH OF A PLACE, PATROCLUS IS THE ONLY REASON I GO THERE.

I like numbskulls, they’re stupid as fuck. Bone-rakers. Bloodless. Bone hydra. Brightsword. Longspear. Skullomats. Splitters. Spreaders. Wretched witch. wave-makers .

FUCK FLAMEWHEELS. ME AND MY HOMIES HATE FLAMEWHEELS. On that note, FUCK MEGAGORGON TOO! AND TINY KING VERMIN. ME AND MY HOMIES ALSO HATE THE WRETCHED SNEAK.

tisiphone for sure... easiest to beat to me

fuck alecto lives. both as in she’s sexy as hell, but also as in fuck you you fucking fuck.

i cannot lavish enough praise on hades, tbh. from the structure of the game to character design to the interpersonal relationship narratives, it's so so good. also the more i read abt supergiant the more i'm like about to become a supergiant only gamer. if you get the chance to try hades out, go for it!
