do i deserve to be called out for owning a mom bag?

i always joke about being the friend who owns a mom bag & the truth is... i am! the first time ciel & i met, they pointed it out. coincidentally there was also an actual literal mom with the same bag. i decided to do this because i was inspired by hwarium and i've been enjoying the process of posting journal entries.

what's in my bag?

• the bag itself is actually a knockoff ralph lauren bag i got from petaling street in june last year but it's actually holding out surprisingly well. it's big enough to fit all my stuff during the school semester which is great because i would rather be dead than use a backpack 
• my wallet is something i picked up in petaling street as well; it needs a change though the interior is beat up as hell. in san francisco i only carry one of those cardholder things since i almost always use my card there but malaysia still needs you to carry cash around and i haaaate folded bills
• the polaroid at the back of my phone is a picture of my cousins & i from diwali
• my passport is something i got used to carrying around in the US, and because i'm trying to hide the fact that i have a canadian visa from my parents
• my earphones are the powerbeats by dr dre; i recently upgraded to them in september because i needed something that was wireless & used a sports band for the gym. it's pretty effective i think & i've been enjoying them. not pictured here cause they were downstairs were the standard apple earphones because i always keep a backup
• powerbank; i'm always paranoid i'll run out of battery so this one is self-explanatory
• i use the leuchtturm1917 as my bullet journal; in 2019 i was really diligent but pandemic induced depression has made this 1/4 of last year's one. i'll be switching into a predated mossery one next year since i loved it in 2018, but would love reccommendations for other preset planners.
• on earth we are briefly gorgeous; mom bags always let me carry a physical book around and right now this is my leisure reading book. the prose is absolutely devastating
• nasonex nasal spray; boy you don't want to know how awful it is when my allergies go off
• clinique moisture surge intense moisturized & lip balm; yes i live at the altar of clinique moisture surge
• misc: cigarettes & lighter; i keep putting off getting a vape because vape shops are intimidating so i'm still old schooling it. candies for my low blood sugar drops. a large clip because tying my hair up gives me migraines. travel pouch with spare lip balm, tampon, panty liners, bindi, salonpas and safety pins. hand sanitizer. wet wipes & tissue paper
• not pictured: my calvin klein sunglasses & keys, mostly because my shades permanently live in my car now (i relied on public transport in the us) & my keys are attached to my car keys now
• sometimes i'm carrying more stuff like my instax printer or my actual polaroid camera during the off-school season if i'm headed out with friends or during the school season, my laptop (surface pro), its charger, a muji b6 sketchbook for on the fly notes, a water bottle and printed readings. perks of a mom bag!!! everything fits!!!

oh this was fun to read ty! inspiring me to do one too... i really loved on earth we're briefly gorgeous too! got halfway through it before i had to return it to the library but i hope i can find another copy soon. your mom bag is important, to me... it's about the storage !!!!

of course, it was my absolute DELIGHT to do this.

my shoulders are not at all okay, thank you for asking, it's a contribution to my worsening posture. as for canada, i was supposed to visit eleni/figure8@ao3 for spring break. as a msian, i need a visa to cross over but my parents would have never allowed me to do it if i'd asked for permission. i am personally of the belief that forgiveness is easier than permission with asian parents so i went ahead and saved up and applied, and i'm now the proud owner of a canadian visa except... i didn't even get to use it as march was the point where the pandemic began to hit north america really badly and canada closed the borders OTL. i might reuse this leuchtturm as an all around journal for next year in addition to my mossery planner since my mossery doesn't have space for that. i smoke menthol clove cigarettes OTL i recognize it's very... wonwoo of me to smoke them but i generally go for menthols and i like cloves more than anything else.
